LAURA'S STORY....

Laura Viana, during her interesting career, has recently worked with Hollywood actor Joaquin Phoenix on the movie 'You Were Never Really Here' also the Warner Brothers film 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'.  The first & second season of  US tv series 'Da Vinci's Demons', written and directed by David S Goyer, aired on Fox & in over 120+ countries worldwide.  She has worked recently as Make-up Designer on films such as 'Edie' starring Sheila Hancock & suspense movie 'The Dark Mile' which are both being shown at the Edinburgh film festival.  Also working as make-up artist for 'The Limehouse Golem', 'Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool', 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi', Disney's 'Cinderella', 'Young Adam', Portuguese film 'Amalia', Spanish film 'Pan's Labyrinth', and 'The Ninth Gate' starring Johnny Depp, filmed in Portugal.  For tv, the successful 'Poldark' for BBC, 'Tina & Bobby', 'HomeFires' (both ITV) and U.S programmes such as 'Will' for Sky Atlantic, and many more in the UK & abroad.  With a career in hair & make-up spanning over 24 years.

Her portfolio also includes both hair & make-up for -Commercials, International Music videos, photo editorials for worldwide fashion magazines and catalogues and publicity marketing shoots with many of the world's top companies, including: McDonald's, Nintendo, Renault, Vodaphone, Microsoft, Suzuki, KFC, Ikea, Barclays Premier, John Player Special, James Harvest Clothing and many more.  She regularly works with some of the best photographers and models from all over the world, including: New York, LA, Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Toronto and Portugal.

EXPERIENCE

 

Throughout her vast career, Laura has worked with all skin tones, ages, prosthetics, theatrical make up and body painting. She is equally proficient with underwater shoots, fashion & period hair, wigs, marcel tonging & knotting/dressing facial postiche. 

Laura began working as a make up artist after training at the prestigious London College of Fashion and working on Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera as Head of Make up, making and applying bald caps for the Phantom.


TEACHING

Laura has taught as a guest makeup degree lecturer at Birmingham University, at Pinewood studios for Creative Media Skills and also teaches privately.
